People

David Landau - Chairman

David co-founded Loot, a free–advertising periodical in 1985 and was its joint Managing Director and Chairman until the company was sold in 2000. He then co-founded Saffron Hill Ventures, a venture capital company specializing in early-stage and clean technologies. He is the founder and former editor of Print Quarterly, a scholarly journal devoted to the history of printmaking, and has published several books in art history. He served as a trustee of the National Gallery between 1996 and 2003 and was on the Board of the National Gallery Trust between 1995-2022, serving also as the Chairman of its Investment Committee until 2022. Dr Landau was a founding member of the Board of Governors of the Courtauld Institute of Art and a former member of the Committee of the Art Fund. He was a Trustee of Yad Hanadiv (2001-2019) and serves as a Trustee of the Rothschild Foundation (Hanadiv) Europe since 2001. He was Chairman of the Finance and Investments Committees and Curator of Pictures for Worcester College, Oxford, of which he was also a fellow (1980-2009). He currently runs the Stanze del Vetro, a glass museum in Venice supported by the Pentagram Stiftung, a foundation set up with his wife, Marie-Rose Kahane, to further research and appreciation of modern and contemporary glass.

Ranjeet Bhatia - Managing Partner

Prior to co-founding Saffron Hill Ventures, Ranjeet worked as Advisor to the Chairman of Loot Ltd. where he advised on e-commerce strategy and investment and in a venture capital capacity for Lord Rothschild, evaluating technology venture opportunities. Ranjeet has had a long term interest in environmental technology and policy, and worked in the environment and energy consulting groups at Booz-Allen & Hamilton, and Dyncorp-Meridian, and as an intern in Vice President Al Gore's White House Office on Environmental Policy. Ranjeet earned an MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Business, an MA. in International Relations and Economics from the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), and a BA. in Environmental Science from Occidental College.
